This song is always played on my local classic rock station and it is the song that got me hooked on Jackson Browne. If you don't really know who he is, he sang Doctor My Eyes. I am a huge fan of his music. It's not too rocking, and not to lame. I'd say it's prefect background music for studying or relaxing activities like reading. It's the kind of music where you don't notice the lyrics but when they do catch your ear you'll want to hear the song again. This song in particular is a great one. I love how it makes you feel as if you understand what it's like to be in a band. To be a musician that just loves to play for the sake of playing. Unfortunately this track is live and The Load out and Stay run together and I couldn't find a combined version. I do recommend playing them back to back, it will be worth it trust me.

Cross genre songs rarely work out well. With this song that is not the case. This song makes me feel like I am sailing the seven seas of music. At first the journey is nice and calm (the lyrics), maybe a little lonely and dark (the music). Then suddenly in the middle of the ocean you come across some choppy water and ahead you can see a storm moving closer and closer. The water becomes more and more violent. You batten down the hatches and prepare for the wild ride(the rap). In the end you come out victorious but can't believe what you just went through. Now you have a story to tell. This song has some of the fastest rapping I have ever heard.

I don't know a lot about this band, I just heard about them on NPR. I got a few of their songs and I really liked this acoustic version. I like the raspy singing voice.
Heartless Bastards - Searching For The Ghost (Acoustic)

I have no idea what to write about this song. I have listened to this a billion times sine I discovered it and it completely baffles me. Their Myspace page labels them as Reggae/Americana/Black Metal. From what I read I know Diplo is involved as is Switch. If you don't know who they are, Diplo is a DJ/producer and worked with MIA on her record as well as founder of Mad Decent Records. Switch is a British DJ/producer who is owner of Dubside, one of the most respected underground dancehall labels around. Check out their Bio story and then tell me you aren't even a little curious.

When I hear this song it always reminds me of driving to work early in the morning. I put it on a CD that was dedicated to music that was nice to wake up with, and I listened to that CD every morning for about 2 months. The lyrics seem like they are a compilation of phrases pulled out of a diary, or one sentence lines from different unfinished songs. However what really brings it together is the music put to it. The piano riff is repetitive but when the bass works itself in it becomes really beautiful. Add the subtle hint of drums and you got a great song. Simple, little, and easy to listen to. My favorite line oh my god, dude that dog called me bro
Barr - Half Of Two Times Two

This one is a slow country burner about drugs. We hear songs all the time about drugs but it's rare to find a song about abstaining from drugs with this much honesty. The lyrics tell of being sick of drugs and all that comes with it. The author is realizing that while it may have been fun, he can't continue with his reckless ways because he has seen where that leads to. Hence the title. By the way this band is from England and they are a great band. I haven't heard a song by them I didn't like if not love.
